Living Skill: Resources

In SD Online, you can't survive with powerful skill merely! There are always some other important aspects you must concern about. For example LIVING SKILL.

I categorize LIVING SKILL to 3 types: RESOURCES, CAST, SPECIAL.

Let's talk about resources. Resources is the vital element for everything. We need resources in order to merge weapon, armor, potions and etc etc...

Upon level 12, you may start to use the Resources Explorer to gather the raw materials/ resources.

First, you need to find Mysterious Space-time Dealer (Yang Zhou City 11513,14520) to purchase the Explorer. (Each costs 500 game gold)

There are four different explorers to gather different resources for example ore, skin, raw, food. Check the images below for more detail.



Goddess and Goddess-S can mine the ore for you to make weapon. Be noted that some of the mighty weapons here only can be obtained through your own merge, crafting or whatever it's called. And because of this, you need to mine for ores to merge for your unique mighty weapon. Otherwise, you'll have to buy weapon from other player with skyscrapingly high price.



Vega and Vega-S can gather animal skins for you to armor, cloak, wristers, shoes and of course headgear. Similarly, strong armors and etc only can be obtained your own merge.



Farmdivine and Farmdivine-S can help you to produce raw food. Similarly, better food only can be obtained your own merge. Food here can help you to make HP recovery potions or pills. In this game, you need a "Cool-down time" when you consume a potion. It takes 1-3 seconds to cool down before you can take another one. In other words, better food grants you a faster cool-down time. This is important in a battle situation where you need to spam your potion crazily. Same "Cool-down" rule applies to skill, potion and many other game features in the game.



Marvelmedic and Marvelmedic-S can pick raw herb for you to make medicines. These things can help you to recovery your SP (skill point) in the battle.

Wait! What's the difference between normal explorer and S-explorer?
Well, for the normal Explorer, you can buy it from in-game NPC with 500 in-game gold. For the S series Explorer, you have to buy it from TS Trading City, the cash shop of the game.

Normal Explorers have the maximum endurance of 50 while S-Explorers (or cash Explorers to be accurate) have the maximum endurance of 120. Higher endurance enables the explorer to mine longer before it gets totally exhausted. You won't get any resources if the explorer is exhausted, but you get the living exp still. xD Of course, S-Explorers grant you more Living Skill EXP compared with the Normal Explorers. Also, some players claim the S-Explorers will provide you more valuable resources compared with the normal one.

My advice would be:
Use the Normal Explorer at low level.
When your Living Skill gets higher, you find that it takes quite a long time for the skill to increase.
What does that mean?
That means it's time for you to use the S-Explorers. However, it's still optional. Alternately, you can create many IDs and keep mining, farming, gathering and picking to boost the living skill level...

You will get EXP for your Living Skill whenever you use the explorer. As shown as the image above, you can check your living skill anytime you want. Click "alt+A" and select "Living Skill" tab to view. This is the status for one of my character. Mining lvl 60, Gathering lvl84, Farming lvl 34 and Herbs-Pick lvl 66.

With higher living skill, you get to craft more stuff like weapon, armor, herbs and etc.

Event: SD Online April Promotion

I found this SD Online April Promotion from the official website early today. You may want to take a look of this.

Add 6 extra bank slots, each character is allowed to use for maximum 5 times


Remark:
The rewards above will be granted simultaneously if player has accumulated the appointed points.

Example 1:
Player AAA has converted 1000 iPoint into SD Points, he/she will be granted with Memory Card (B) x4, USB Drive (B) x2.

Example 2:
Player BBB has converted 10000 iPoint into SD Points, he/she will be granted with Memory Card (B) x40, USB Drive (B) x20, Gold Hammer x10, Bear Gallbladder x2, Projade Pill x2, Storage Bin x1.

Example 3:
Player CCC has converted 20000 iPoint into SD Points, he/she will be granted with Memory Card (B) x80, USB Drive (B) x40, Gold Hammer x20, Bear Gallbladder x4, Projade Pill x4, Storage Bin x2.

Attention:

* Point accumulation will be counted separately by server.
* All rewards will be added into the inventory of the character after the maintenance on 17 th April 2009. The winners are reminded to clear the inventory before the maintenance.

Miyuri

This is the gal, Miyuri I met in Jiang County yesterday. Yea, you're right. She's a player. A professional player I would say. xD She was really nice, trying hard to explain and demonstrate the game-play for me and another newbie.

She even asked me to get myself killed, so that she could show us the resurrection skill and it was really cool! LOL!

I wonder if she's single in the game! Maybe she could be my in-game-wife and guide me all along the way. ^^

Skill and Job

At the beginning, we learned 5 weapon skills on default including Blade, Sword, Fist, Spear and Stick skills. We must focus in one of them to upgrade its level.

Blade, sword, fist, stick and spear will generate different effect in full power mode which are respectively critical damage, range attack, shield defense, reflective attack and AOE attack.

I've jotted down the coordinates and NPC to learn 5 of these skills! Remember, focus in either 1 or you'll regret in the end xD:

Annihilate Blade Art: You can learn from Jiao Xie (Yang Zhou City 12985,11624)

Bluish Sword Art: You can learn from Du Gu Ce (Yang Zhou City 11433,11481)

Jebel Moving Art: You can learn from Shilong (Yang Zhou City 2552, 13847)

Rainstorm Spear Art: You can learn from Zhang Xu Tuo (Yang Zhou City 12985, 13080)

108Stick of Cowboy: You can learn from Zhu Zhong (Yang Zhou City 9800, 12700)


That's for physical/weapon skill. How about job? Do we have job in this game? The answer is definitely YES! xD

We have TAOIST, BUDDHIST and DEMONIC here. What's the difference? Let me elaborate. =P

TAOIST is good a noble character, you can heal yourself, friend, group of friends or even resurrect your dead friends. xD

BUDDHIST is a supportive character, you can enhance your strength, defense and etc and make yourself remarkably stronger compared to others. ^^

DEMONIC is not really a demon actually! You can use DEMONIC character to set out poison, AOE power, attack enemies in group simultaneously and etc. It's said to be the strongest class in the initial stage.

For me, I personally prefer TAOIST, because I'm a kind soul! ^^

Basically, there're 15 types of character you can try in this game.
5 weapon skills X 3 different classes = 15 characters, each combination will generate different effect in the game. xD

Okay, enough explanation! But how do we get these jobs?

You can pick your job upon level 5. However, before that, you must complete a quest named "Unforeseen Roads".

Here's a guide for you:

If you're going Taoist, you must help Kou Zhong to get back Immortality Art from Army Ruffian outside Yang Zhou City.
Trigger quest from [Kou Zhong @ Old HOuse (648,1240)] in Yang Zhou City.



If you're going Buddhist, you must help Shi Fei Xuan to get back Sword Art Copy from Army Ruffian outside Yang Zhou City.
Trigger quest from [Shi Fei Xuan @ Guest Inn (1385,728)] in Yang Zhou City.

If you're going Demonic, you must help Yang Xu Yan to get back Athanasia Lostpage from Army Ruffian outside Yang Zhou City.
Trigger quest from [Yang Xu Yan @ Shilong Dojo (585,504)] in Yang Zhou City.


And here is where ARMY RUFFIAN locates. Please don't find RUFFIAN instead of ARMY RUFFIAN. It's a trick here. You must find ARMY RUFFIAN, not RUFFIAN! Hit army ruffian and get the quest item you need and go back to the particular NPC. ^^

Newbie Guide

Create Character
First of all, create character. Remember, one ID only can create 3 characters.

~Name your character
~Select gender, hairstyle, hair color, skin color & outfit.
~Click confirm.

You will proceed to a flash video, watch it or hit ESC to skip and enter game directly. You will reach Yang Zhou City in the very beginning of SD Online.

Below are the detail of attribute for a SD Character:

5 Main Attributes:

Strength: Influence load wieght, attack, explode, and subdue rate.
Dexterity: Influence attack speed, dodge and explode rate.
Stamina: Influence Max HP limit and auto-healing ability.
Pneuma: Influence the Max SP limit and the auto-recover ability.
Energy: Influence the Max MP limit, accuracy and subdue rate.

Others:
HP: Blood/ Health Point of character.
SP: Skill Point of character.
MP: Magic Point of character. To be used for full power purpose and minority skills.
Attack: Value of attack.
Defend: Value of defend.
Accuracy: Value of accuracy.
Dodge: Value of dodge.
Subdue: Value of subdue, it lowers the damage taken by 20%.

Newbie Items

First of all, you can access to your inventory/backpack/equipment interface by pressing alt+E.

On the upper left, there is a locker icon there. Click it to lock/unlock your equipped weapon and armors.

On the upper right, you can see your level of Attack, Defend, Accuracy, Dodge and Subdue.

On the middle left, where you can see a "0" number there, that indicates your money inside the game. Yea, you are right, you don't have any money in the beginning. No gold will be given at the beginning. You have to earn gold by selling dropped items/bounty from the mobs.=P

On the middle right, where you can see 240/500, that indicates the weight of your backpack. You are now carrying 240 load weight out of 500 capacity.

As shown on the lower columns, few items will be given to newbie including weapons and recovery pills.
Weapon: Newbie Blade, Newbie Sword, Newbie Claw, Newbie Spear, Newbie Stick.
*Player can choose either one weapon to use.
Recovery Pill: X-5 Prothrombin (HP+50), Amidocyanogen (SP+50) x65 units each.

Map
You can switch to current map, world map accordingly by pressing alt+M.

In this medium map show above, you can see all kind of relevant information such as Quest NPC, Trader NPC, Skill NPC, Portal and etc which are are marked clearly with the appointed symbols.

You can move to any spot on medium map just by double clicking on the medium maps. (Only for straight routine though =P)

I've highlighted the map with ##1, ##2 and ##3 which respectively represents spots of Zhen Lady, Newbie Instructor and portal to Jiang County.

Zhen Lady will give you 20 Meat Bun (SP+50) everytime you meet her. However, she only will give you under 2 conditions, which are you're lower than level 10 and have finished all the buns she gave you last time.

Here is here coordinations in Yang Zhou City: (3929, 11225), somwehere near the Buns Shop as shown on the middle map.


Newbie Instructor located in Yang Zhou City (6793, 14440) will give you the interfaces guidance one by one as shown on the right image above. He's somewhere near the Time Machine, Little Lamb and Professor Ma, where you start the game.

Taking Quest:
As shown above, you can trigger and accept a quest whenever you see a scroll above NPC as the image shown above.

Fighting:
Take a look of the image above.

On the upper left, red bar represents your HP, blue bar represents your SP, yellow bar represents your MP while the number on the orange circle represents your current level.

On the upper right, you can see the map and coordinates you're current in. The round thing below that is your mini map. You can double click to travel accordingly. The red spots inside the mini map are the mobs.

When you vanquish a mob, animal or whatever it is, you get EXP and WP as shown as image above. EXP is your experience point to increase your level while WP is the Wushu Point, the point for you to learn martial art and magic.

On the bottom left is your chatbox. You can chat there in any channel you like. You may also switch the chat box transparency accordingly.

On the bottom middle, you can find your attribute, inventory, skill, community and system interfaces accordingly.

On the bottom right, this is your shortcut row. You can manipulate them by pressing F1-F8. Also, you may drag any skills, pills, potions or any useful utility here for your own preference.

For the enemy, you can detect their strength by seeing the name of their color. For example this Ferocious Dog i was killing shares the same level with me. How did i know? Check out the table below! =P

Grey ≦ L10 & above
Green ≦ L4-9
Yellow ≦ L3 or same level with player
Orange ≧ L1-3
Red ≧ L4-9
Purple ≧ L10 & above

Free Registration Guide

As many friends of mine finding hard to sign up SD account, I decided to create this page to guide you all step by step with screenshots attached.

To register a SD Game Account, you need to first register iPoint account. You will have access to many games after registered an iPoint account, JusticeXWar II (English), CQ Online (Chinese), Ragnarok Online (English) and of course SD Online(English).

Create iPoint account > Create SD account > Login to SD and enjoy! =)

Without Image Guide:

1. Click "Register" from the installed game client or go to iPoint official webpage.
   
2. A page will be shown as below. Click the button to sign up.
3. Click to continue sign up.
4. User Agreement Page, scroll down and click "AGREE".
5. Click and enter your desired ID & verify the availability.
6. For Malaysian, enter your IC number in the first circle below. For non Malaysian, enter your passport number or simply key in 12 numbers as Malaysia IC if you don't have a passport. For the 2nd circle, enter your address. Please remember not to enter any symbol like comma, dot etc here. Just number and alpabet merely.
7. After that, click "Next" to proceed.
8. Choose your Day of Birth, enter email address and click "Next" to continue.
9. Check your details, click confirm to continue.
10. IPOINT registration successful.
11. Select SD to apply SD Account
12. Click to proceed
13. Select SD & click "Confirm".
14. Create ID for your SD Game Account.
15. SD Game Account Application Done! xD
