Chinese Paladin Online

Few days ago, i came accross Chinese Paladin Online Fan's Blog. I found it interesting and decided to write a post about it.

First of all, it's a Chinese Online MMORPG. The content is all in Chinese, but those who don't know Chinese, you all can still have a brief look here. ^^

Also, I found the English summary of Chinese Paladin Online from somewhere in the internet:

Sixteen years ago, descendant of Nüwa Goddess, Zhao LingEr resolved the centurial impasse and war between Dali races with her gifted celestial force. Then, she sacrificed herself for the sake of peace by vanquishing evil monsters and overthrowing malicious complot of heinous Cult which happened to be the idolized religion of the people. What she left behind was her beloved one, Li XiaoYao who survived in the battle but tortured with yearnings for the rest of his life…

Four passionate people from different worlds brought together by the fate of love. The great love of LingEr saved the land, the flamy love of YueRu rescued her beloved ones, the faithful love of AhNu kept their friendships eternally and the grievous yearnings of XiaoYao ended their journey. Seemingly, they were confined within a Déjà vu that destined to taste the love & hatred of the nature. Ironically, this touching myth had then circulated on the land…

Today, atrocious monsters reveal themselves on the peaceful land again. Is this the premonition of another myth? What will happen between goods and evils? People can never predict the front path, just like we will never know what the future may be…

Meanwhile, main influences of world have begun to change. Government of Middleland has corrupted, the Court has lost faith from the people and bribes of bureaucracy are everywhere. As consequences, robbers and villains rebels, robs and kills, making the wicked doings of all. Without the strength to fight, innocent civilians suffer in extreme misery. Chaos can be seen everywhere and six realms have now started to change after a long time of peace, union and tranquility.

One year ago, chivalrous heroes attempted to fight against the evils. Massacres of evils and goods were everywhere and evils were said to be vanquished eventually after a bloodcurdling battle. Under such circumstances of turmoil, the descendant of Satan was rumored to reborn again…

In this crucial moment, Li XiaoYao, the most prestigious leader of martial world as well as the holder of Celestial Sword Sect disappeared from the world. As a descendant of Li XiaoYao and Nüwa Goddess, Li YiRu ran away from home to look for his father. She met a young man who will change her life forever…

Who will be the destined savior? Is this the old grudge of preexistence? Certainly, someone as young as them will never give a thought about this. But the bitterness and obstacles are approaching them gradually, getting nearer now…

Chinese Paladin [仙劍奇俠傳(transliteration:Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan)] also known as The Legend of Sword & Fairy has been popular since the early 90's. I used to get myself obsessed with the DOS offline version when i was small. It was a massively big hit in game industry at that time. Today, I would like to share this childhood memories with all of you.

The version I played is the DOS version, I forgot what is the exact year back then but I'm pretty sure I was attending primary school at that time.

After viewing CPO blog I mentioned above, I attempted to search for different versions of Chinese Paladin in the internet, trying to re-play the game, an action of reminiscence. (I liked it a lot!) But what i found is just the DOS version of the game and the funniest thing (at least I didn't expect this and really think that's funny *_*'') is that the size of of the game installer is extremely small! Just 14.125MB! Imagine, a game that used to be my idolized fun is so small in size. ><''

I forgot where I downloaded the game, so I uploaded it to another file hosting website so that you all can share with me. (Don't worry, NO VIRUS THERE)

Click HERE if you want to download the game. Of course, please take note that the graphic is very bad if compared with the latest offline games. But the selling point of Chinese Paladin always tends to be the Storyline instead of the game-play itself. Of course, in my childhood time, this game was considered best-play game or something and won many awards throughout Chinese countries all around the world. Impressive, right? xD

These screenshots are about Li XiaoYao, trying hard to look for his wife , Zhao LingEr that happened to be the descendant of NuWa (Chinese Goddess that creates human) in a monster's dungeon. The girl here is Ling YueRu, the one who loves Li XiaoYao so much until she sacrifices herself to rescue Li & Zhao in the middle of the story...
