I categorize LIVING SKILL to 3 types: RESOURCES, CAST, SPECIAL.
Let's talk about resources. Resources is the vital element for everything. We need resources in order to merge weapon, armor, potions and etc etc...
Upon level 12, you may start to use the Resources Explorer to gather the raw materials/ resources.
First, you need to find Mysterious Space-time Dealer (Yang Zhou City 11513,14520) to purchase the Explorer. (Each costs 500 game gold)There are four different explorers to gather different resources for example ore, skin, raw, food. Check the images below for more detail.
Goddess and Goddess-S can mine the ore for you to make weapon. Be noted that some of the mighty weapons here only can be obtained through your own merge, crafting or whatever it's called. And because of this, you need to mine for ores to merge for your unique mighty weapon. Otherwise, you'll have to buy weapon from other player with skyscrapingly high price.
Vega and Vega-S can gather animal skins for you to armor, cloak, wristers, shoes and of course headgear. Similarly, strong armors and etc only can be obtained your own merge.
Farmdivine and Farmdivine-S can help you to produce raw food. Similarly, better food only can be obtained your own merge. Food here can help you to make HP recovery potions or pills. In this game, you need a "Cool-down time" when you consume a potion. It takes 1-3 seconds to cool down before you can take another one. In other words, better food grants you a faster cool-down time. This is important in a battle situation where you need to spam your potion crazily. Same "Cool-down" rule applies to skill, potion and many other game features in the game.
Marvelmedic and Marvelmedic-S can pick raw herb for you to make medicines. These things can help you to recovery your SP (skill point) in the battle.
Wait! What's the difference between normal explorer and S-explorer?
Well, for the normal Explorer, you can buy it from in-game NPC with 500 in-game gold. For the S series Explorer, you have to buy it from TS Trading City, the cash shop of the game.
Normal Explorers have the maximum endurance of 50 while S-Explorers (or cash Explorers to be accurate) have the maximum endurance of 120. Higher endurance enables the explorer to mine longer before it gets totally exhausted. You won't get any resources if the explorer is exhausted, but you get the living exp still. xD Of course, S-Explorers grant you more Living Skill EXP compared with the Normal Explorers. Also, some players claim the S-Explorers will provide you more valuable resources compared with the normal one.
My advice would be:
Use the Normal Explorer at low level.
When your Living Skill gets higher, you find that it takes quite a long time for the skill to increase.
What does that mean?
That means it's time for you to use the S-Explorers. However, it's still optional. Alternately, you can create many IDs and keep mining, farming, gathering and picking to boost the living skill level...
You will get EXP for your Living Skill whenever you use the explorer. As shown as the image above, you can check your living skill anytime you want. Click "alt+A" and select "Living Skill" tab to view. This is the status for one of my character. Mining lvl 60, Gathering lvl84, Farming lvl 34 and Herbs-Pick lvl 66. With higher living skill, you get to craft more stuff like weapon, armor, herbs and etc.
